Today I take my first fully simultaneous 5 axis cuts on my Haas VF2SSYT / TRT160

Thanks to everyone at www.NexGenCAM.com for the software support.

Your plan is highly appreciated-just sharing what and as you learn. I am 2 years behind you but moving at the same pace, so love to see what you share. Don't let the 'experts' get you down...They have forgotten they were where you (we) are once back when. :-)

Thanks again for all the insights on 5 axis and fusion 360. I totally understand what you mean by adding construction geometry. I am very happy you are leaning into more content around this. There is dfeinetly a gap in kjnowldege on YouTube around the 4 and 4 axis stuff for the little guys like myself. Great video. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤟😀🤟

Hey Nerdly, I love your videos and I have my own CNC G0704 clone with flood coolant hoping to own a HAAS one day. I got really excited seeing you buy one of those EBAY 5 axis rotary tables and telling us you might put it on your G0704, but then you went straight for the HAAS 5 axis.
Would you be able to do a video in the future with the G0704 5 axis rotary on it so I could see what the expected results would look like? I think you'd answer a lot of questions I have on it.

Jason - dig your videos. Just got a 2010 SMM2 with a somewhat-rare side mount tool changer. It doesn't seem like you're short on video ideas, but one thing that I'd be interested in is how you set up your tool changer tools. I think I recall you saying in a previous video that most of the tools were set/fixed and that you had a few tools you'd rotate in/out (I guess tools specific to a job?). Anyway, would be curious what your process was to setup the "standard" tools and any thoughts you had on that process. [would've written you directly rather than comment, but didn't see contact info on your page]. Keep the vids coming!

Nice video. Looks like you are learning quite a bit about the CNC world. 5 Axis is a very different world. Glad your working with the Nexgen boys. Good guys! Are you working with Bruno? He is awesome on post customization for HSM.
Keep up the great videos. Love watching when I have a moment.

I'm going to give you a tip nobody else is going to give you: in your brain a quickly start by telling you that I enjoy your videos, that said do more with hobby grade stuff. There are a lot of folks such as myself out there looking for content the cheap Chinese stuff like your 4th and 5th access that you've shown in a previous video. We need a knowledgeable YouTuber such as yourself to take us the rest of the way in our own setups. I have the harbor freight mini Mill and that same 4th and 5th trunnion and I'm just waiting for someone to have forged to the way and documents at for the rest of us via YouTube! I am absolutely certain it will be a very well responded to and highly viewed video.

People saying Fusion doesn't do 5-axis are just being contradictory and/or elitist. It obviously has the base ability; it's right there in the operation list, and hell you did it on the second day! Yes the operation is "basic" but know we're getting into some actual pro-machiner gatekeeping as to whether it's whatever that means...
Now, the thing Fusion indeed lacks is 5-ax multi-surface operations, where you scallop across a surface or between two chains using simultaneous motion. But that's just the next level up, gotta spend cash for it.
Let's not be pedantic about it....just because you can't use Fusion to make a 5-axis impeller doesn't mean it can't be used for other 5-axis cutting.

Cool beans..:)

What is the cost for the premium software for 5 axis coated to Autodesk? $10k -$15k?
Thanks!

You need to go over to the Titans of CNC web page and sign up for their free five axis classes. They use Fusion 360 in their lesson plans. I don't own a 5 axis mill or the Fusion 360 software but even I could make sense of what they are teaching using this CAM software.

I do not understand that about test of model for durability (simulation) and so on? Please explain to us about test of model for durability (simulation) and so on

DWO and TCP aren't that new functions in CNC controls - Heidenhain has had them from at least beginning of 2000's.

be more confident, you must be modeled up by now, you only need to worry about retracts and tool changes, get yer CAM rep to write you a post that pumps out code to move the X where you want it, yer gonna have some fun now!

So you left me with a bunch of questions... Need to see actual examples instead of simply rattling off a bunch of buzz words.
