GIFT City - India's Own Dubai and Singapore? 🔥

GIFT City is short for Gujarat International Finance Tech City.

It is located on the bank of the Sabarmati River, between Gujarat's industrial capital Ahmedabad and political capital Gandhinagar.

GIFT city was envisioned by PM Narendra Modi (then chief minister of Gujarat) when he announced plans to create Singapore, Shanghai, and New York-like smart cities in the state right after his first visit to Singapore in 2006.

Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman also announced a series of measures in the Union Budget 2023 to accelerate it's growth.
