Great interview Guys! Marie really seems to have the Sea in her DNA.
Everytime you see footage of her dad sailing that "beast" alone you got to wonder... How Eric? HOW?
Certainly, one of the best sailors that ever lived... If you have the chance take a look at a 2008 movie/documentary about his life and his beloved Pen Duiks.

Eric Tarbarly was a complete legend! As a child, he was certainly my hero, as I followed his Whitbread races and then the OSTAR that Marie talks about was, to me, the very pinnacle od\f sailing achievements. I am pleased that not even Marie knows how he did it, to sail a powerful yacht like Pen Duick 6 single-handed. She was also quite modest (for him…like him) as she failed to point out that the self steering gear broke in storms during the last week of the race…and so he had to be on the helm. and rigging alone so Pen Duick could still track straight, and he still won, easily. I wish I had the millions to bequeath to Pen Duick 6, so he can keep sailing, and winning races for another 50 years. To me, Pen Duick 6 is the single most handsome yacht in the entire world. I was so pleased to finally see him in the flesh here in Cape Town, even on the dock, his lines are perfect. Bon voyage Marie, and Pen Duick, fair winds, sail fast, and keep spreading your message!
