Mary's Prayer came out in 1987 by Scottish group Danny Wilson. Gary Clark composed the song, who said "The religious imagery is meant to relate to past, present, and future, it's just a simple love song". A beautiful song indeed, that still touches so many, hasn't been another quite like it.

He's very humble about its meaning to different people too. The lyrics are pretty religious (Catholic) he calls it a simple love song. So sweet.

This song makes me think of my sons, Julian, Jr. and Ian, who I lost. The lyrics "leave a light on in Heaven for me", it's like me telling Julian & Ian to leave a light on until I get there. 👼🏾👼🏾
