I'm a liberal and a gun owner. I've been shooting since I was 5 years old and I'm former Army as well. I support common sense gun laws! Laws like red flag laws that respect due process, early detection and intervention for at-risk youth, banning firearm sales to anyone under 21 yo unless they are in the military, and universal background checks. ANY well intentioned gun owner who abides by the 2A should be on board with this as well regardless of political party. It is sad though that only one party REALLY wants to make these ideas work.

So refreshing! common sense. Ding, ding, ding. I own more guns than I want to say, most for hunting. Former USMC, former NRA member. I hunt. I was on the shooting team in my Jr HS in the 70's. The NRA changed from being pro safety and hunting to being pro corporate gun profits. Walz gets me and me him. Common sense. TY

I am a hunter and gun owner too and I have had a similar realization to the one that Gov Walz experienced. We need to do more to stop the mass shootings and the school shootings and if that means I am subjected to a little more rigor when it comes to purchasing and owning firearms, I'm fine with that.

I don't know what it is about that picture with the kids hugging him and him looking so delighted but it kills the cynicism and me and honestly brought tears to my eyes. Haters will call it a photo-op, I just see a snapshot of the good and decency in the American people and the hope they bring to the world. Let's protect our little boys and girls and find the joy we lost over the past decade since Trump casted his shadow over the world.
