Opening Remarks + Indigenous Education and Land-Based Learning Keynote

During the May 31, 2021 professional learning day, students who helped plan and facilitate the Beyond the Horizon Youth Summit shared their collective insight with staff about their lived experience and discuss how we can do better as an education system through a series of keynote speeches. We began the day with opening remarks from Superintendent Christian Michalik and Wanbdi Wakita, member of the Indigenous Council of Grandmothers and Grandfathers. The student keynote begins at 30:00.
