For those few who don't know, it's a Australian comedy duo called 'Clarke and Dawe'. They did an 'end of the week' comedy short as part of a current affairs program on Aussie TV. Clarke and Dawe were absolute national treasures, and their skits always cut to the heart of a matter with their comedy far more effectively than an entire army of talking heads. The actual incident was very real. It happened in '91, the front broke off a Greek tanker called the 'Kirki'. The footage is pretty wild.

As an Aussie, this is typical political interview when things go wrong. Clarke and Dawe have always parodied our leaders perfectly. I've loved these guys. It's a shame John Clark isn't with us any more. He died from a heart attack in 2017. RIP one of the funniest guys on Australian TV.

As an American seeing these gents for the first time, I wasn’t sure it was a skit until Senator Collins said that cardboard isn’t an authorized material for construction. Even then, I was only about 99% sure he wasn’t just joking for a bit until the minimum crewing standard came up.
