Erdogan came from Greek grandparents who later became Islamized. Erdogan's great grandfather, Agamemnon Bakatoglu, was the leader of the Pontus, and he was killed by Kemal. Those Greeks that survived were forced to become Muslims (If they refused, they were beheaded), like his grandfather Mimis (Memis). Erdoğan, whose ancestry is from Pontus, is Greek himself. His ancestry comes from Potamia (Ποταμιὰ, Turkish: Güneysu) and Erdoğan in the past has even returned to the village where signs that welcomed him would say Potamia and not Güneysu.

According to the archives of 1850, his family changed their surname in 1934 because the word 'Bakat', who was the family's surname, was considered to e absurd because all Greek guerrillas were called 'Bakat'. In Pontus, therefore, this word had the meaning of a Greek rebel, a rebel against the Turks.

Turkish historian Cezmi Yurtsever found in Ottoman tax records details of Erdoğan’s grandfather, who was the head of a guerrilla group of Greeks in Pontus who fought against the Ottomans. Erdoğan’s grandfather’s name was Bakedoglu Memis and the tax records wrote the word ‘Islamized’ next to his name and in another column had his new Islamic name that was changed in 1934. BUT ERDOGAN WILL NEVER ADMIT IT, because Islam teaches them that when they die (even Erdogan's father told him this when Erdogan asked him if he was of Greek decent), they are to say "Muhammad is their prophet and Allah is their god". Out of fear of going to hell if they say otherwise. Don't believe me? Do research!!
