Countries around the world are starting to impose strict CO2 limits within cities.
This means the traditional internal combustion engine days are limited.
In metropolitan areas people tend to use two wheeled transport for short trips, commuting, leisure and shopping for ease of use and reduced congestion.
Electric mobility costs are substantially cheaper to run than traditional petroleum based engines, the cost is less than 25% per mile for electric propulsion vs petroleum.

There are a host of new companies and traditional manufacturers specializing and continually introducing eScooters, eMopeds, Smart Scooters.
eScooters can have modular, portable battery packs that can be scale able for increased distance range (up to 200miles).
The batteries can also be removed for charging indoors.
The battery packs are Li-ion (LIB), typically 48v rated and power motors ranging from 1kW – 4kW.
A single battery pack can give a range of typically 50miles, and takes approximately 6 hours to fully charge.
As eScooters are powered by electricity from batteries, a host of other technical features can be included such as: app based touchscreen, GPS, wireless connectivity (to smart phone).
Allowing remote visibility of the scooter including range left.
On Board DC-DC requirements must convert the 48v Li-ion main battery to a stable clean 12v typically 20A rated.
Must work in a -40c - +85c ambient, and be shock/vibration proof, and IP67 rated.
Calex Manufacturing offers a range of DC/DC converters specifically for eScooter applications, 35v-60v DC I/P – 12v 20A o/p, and also able to support 12v courtesy battery charging in the same package.
