Fibonacci Sequence as Polyrhythms

Показать описание
The Fibonacci sequence was developed by the Italian mathematician, Leonardo Fibonacci, in the 13th century. The sequence of numbers, starting with zero and one, is a steadily increasing series where each number is equal to the sum of the preceding two numbers. For example, 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, etc.
The Fibonacci sequence is found in almost everything we see. From flowers, shells, pine cones, body proportions, hurricanes, DNA, and even galaxies.
Scientists and Engineers like @DanWinterFractalField believe that this fractal is the cause of gravity, bliss, and even consciousness itself.
These patterns always form a spiral when expressed physically which then comes to a zero point.
I created this piece by applying the Fibonacci sequence to simple ratios (13:8, 8:5, 5:3, 3:2, 1:1) which I then converted into polyrhythms. I placed them in this order (descending) because I wanted to emulate the spiraling nature of the pattern that finally meets at a zero point. I also wrote the melody using the the circle of 4th to emulate the same idea. I believe the circle of 5ths might have been a better choice, but that could be changed fairly easily.
This video is simply an experiment in mathematics and music and not meant to be anything more.
If u have any thoughts on how to further improve on this idea I would love to hear them.
For now, enjoy the insanity of nature!
