Cool tech. I must have lucked out or older furnaces were just built different. My basement flooded in the mid 90's to about thigh high and after I pumped the water out and got everything dry the furnace (installed in the 60's) worked fine for at least another 10 years after reigniting the pilot light.

I have solar. My basement flooded three weeks prior to install. Now unless i have terrible luck my basement wont flood again anker is a cool company

How long do the batteries last on these units? 3-5years? Are the batteries serviceable? This is a great idea but not very practical

I'm no expert however, when the house and basement was built/constructed, I would have thought to have a drainage system to take over in the event of a sump pump or power failure. Is that something a builder would do as a standard practice?
