"I work with the technology leadership and the business leadership to bake security into their strategic plans. So I’m a liason back to the greater security organization, the operational teams, I’m there to ensure the directions of our CISO are being followed and adhered to and I’m there to guide."
"I have a consulting background, within that kind of work you learn to relate to a lot of different types of people. How to relate to dif types of business leaders. Technical leaders, they all have different hot buttons, things they manage, things they don’t. second would be communication skills, I never have the luxury of working with people who understand exactly what my skillset or role is, so I have to be able to translate that into something that is digestible to them, kitchen English, basically. Third and foremost, you have to be technically competent. They have to trust I know what we’re talking about technically speaking, all the while being able to steer and guide and make sure we’re going in the right direction. "
