I wanted to show you guys what I wear when duck hunting. I covered everything from head to toe. The weather can get pretty cold when duck hunting and wearing the right gear can make the difference.

Never really considered buying any Sitka gear for the longest time until I was at the store one day and tried on the duck oven jacket. He is totally right, it is one of the best jackets you’ll ever buy. Worth the money if you hunt where it gets really cold!

The big game changer I had this year was long johns and a thermal unershirt

Here’s what you need in California, waders, basketball shorts, super think long socks to protect your legs from rubbing your rubber wader boots, a long sleeve camo shirt. If it’s cold, throw on a sweat shirt, if it’s raining wear a jacket. You are going to sweat through the sweatshirt and jacket, cause we don’t get winter until turkey season is starting 🥵

The warmest boots you can get are the muck attics. Best boots hands down!

One thing that I like to wear when it's really getting cold is a neck gaiter, either fleece or polypropylene, pretty versatile, you can pull it up over your ears with a ball cap on or just leave it around your neck

Just dropped the coin on the Hudson jacket and im stoked. Living in Oregon I usually have a rain coat on and the insulation saves me an additional layer to pack around

For years I always thought Sitka was a joke because of how expensive it was, never even considered it. I needed to buy some warmer clothes so I tried on the Dakota hoody but compared it to the outer jackets from all the top brands in the next isle. Banded, drake, whatever, whatever. The slim fitting dakota hoody was warmer and seemed higher quality than all of the other coats and only a little more expensive so I picked it up. I love it. Now I have the pantanal gloves and I love them. Sad to say but I now have the SITKA SICKNESS and I don't know if I'll ever buy a piece of hunting clothing that isn't Sitka. Except for waders because they all leak eventually and $950 for the Sitka waders is truly a joke. In the area I hunt there are barbed wire fences all over that we have to cross and it's only a matter of time, even for the best waders.

I wore a synthetic long sleeve, hoodie, and the duck oven in -20 degree weather last Friday. Only time I got cold was once my sweat started to cool me off.

If your hands and feet’s are cold it means your core is cold. Blood is retreating away from your extremities to keep your core warm.

Good vid, Josh! The decoy gloves are clutch. I use them all the time in November and December here in Wisconsin.

Dux thermal sweats are CRAZY warm! I love em. If I have to walk a bunch and/or break ice, they’re almost too hot! For field hunting geese when it’s single digits they are seriously awesome!

Poor man's decoy glove --I wear a rag wool glove and put a XL nitrile 9mil glove from harbor freight over top of it to keep it dry. Works for me in most weather and I can shoot in it too if I want to.

Never hunt without both pairs of my Under Armour gloves. Decoy gloves and mid weight. Never cold hands. Also face paint is a must for me

Please do review the Rogers breathable waders. I’ve been hunting out of Lacrosse breathable for the past two seasons but not sure how much more I’ll get out of them. May his ahead and get a new pair for next season.

Merino next-to-skin base layers, such as Icebreaker is my go-to.

Leggings are the answer friend! No pants up or socks down
