I'm surprised this show doesn't regularly get vastly more viewership. I love it. I'm no economist but you can explain complex ideas in lay terms where non experts can understand and I thank you for it.

Richard and Harriet... you described growing up in the 1960's/70's exactly as cultural and economic whiplash! I know because I was there... :) Thank you for an excellent program.

THANK YOU dear and lovely Prof. Wolff for all your wonderful work. Thank you especially for the language you use to get your great message across to the masses.
Please drink lots of ginger tea with lemon juice and a touch of honey for your cold. This is a mighty drink to keep your immune system strong. Do please add bone broth to your daily consumption. Thank you so so so much.
PS
Dr. Josh Axe's website is good.

I was hoping for a full text version of the Bloomberg News article. Currently, watching the effects of hospital mergers/acquisitions that need to use state's (or more than one states) Certificate of Public Need to circumvent FTC monopoly rules. The FTC economists will say it will increase the cost and back it up in retrospective peer reviewed studies and mathematical models. The cooperate side will hire well connected consultants to state terms like "efficiency of scale" or "consolidation of services" will offset these increased costs. However, no one asks when does premise of economy of scale run into the law of diminishing returns?

It interesting that the use of these states rules to consolidate services is now allowing for profit -driven company then to purchase these enterprises with nearly 100% market saturation (i.e. Asheville, NC with Mission and HCA).

Any Socialist deserving the title should know and advertise that the real determinants of life span are things like sewerage, water and keeping the two separate, vaccination programs, child labour control and proper housing. Grateful though we should be, it is nevertheless the case that medicine is a rewarding and prestigious career for a lot of well paid people and they want to take the credit for creating the universe as usual. Good work though and thank you.

Statistical (not individuated) medical diagnosis in the context of abbreviated physician-patient appointments and assembly-line surgical procedures: US "healthcare". If this report surprises you, you're probably not paying attention.

it's conceivable that in 'one day' no one will be inclined to buy American goods anymore because of reactions like this. Capital is International.

Polish workers understand the connection between value producing labor and the value of labor that American workers have yet to understand.
American workers may not ever understand and act on that difference because of intensive post trauma the working class is afflicted with since 1996 to the present.
Most likely because of chronic fatigue syndrome and related immunity problems with antibiotics and anti-depressants are typical prescriptions was given to 43, 000 Gulf War Veterans who were partially disabled in 1996. The army predicted 50, 000 casualties in that war. The US army gave large doses of an antidote used to paralyze key neuromuscular transmitters as a means of prevention against pesticides, uranium and oil. The chemical (s) released from the oil fires in Iraq hot by day rise and cold by night fall on the desert, a chemical recombination occurs would kill troops without a shot fired. The name of the disease times two the name of the drug (N2D2) is the method of modern medicine in American society comes straight out the military medical procedure of 1991. This was the beginning of the growth of children of 43, 000 Gulf War veterans who came back sick, suffering loss of energy, nervous twitching, coagulated blood plasma and metabolic brain activity symptoms of those veterans later to surface in their children.

Given the cumulative effects of trauma the working class experiences in the community and in the family, the difference between value-producing labor that gives them the right to a share of its product because it made the product while paid a wage for that activity or service deprives them of their share of the product, is not yet an issue for them like it is for 15, 000 Polish workers.
Why this is relevant is because while the American worker is traumatized and handicapped his/her labor productivity is not handicapped. In the Polish working class they realize this productivity is their's, whereas the American workers thinks it is not their's for reasons largely, ideological.

China is in no way ahead of the US in technology the issue is the oligarchs here are using our tech in China as a wedge against the labor force-society here in the US. The tech you speak of the vast majority of it is paid for by US with grants-& especially at universities WE fund who then give the tech WE paid for to oligarchs who use it against US because this is an oligarchy posing as a representative democracy.
