This was my very first anime, i remember going to Blockbuster video and renting this on VHS, they only had a few episodes on each tape, back in the early 90's. This is actually the one episode i remember watching way back when.

My older brother watched the 1984 series when he was younger, I’m watching the 2018 version a second time, my brother saw the beginning of the 2018 one, he says it’s really good, I’m enjoying this.

Some of my earliest memories are linked to Voltron. I was born in 1982, so I was just a few years old when this show aired in the US. My parents were super conservative with the kinds of TV shows I was allowed to watch, but we had a neighbor two houses down from us that had a kid my age and an older brother, so I befriended them and we'd watch Voltron, Thundercats, Masters of the Universe, etc. in his basement. He had all those toys, too, including a complete Voltron Lion set, Rambo, The Karate Kid, Chuck Norris...all that stuff. The best decade for TV and toys.

Brings back many if only I kept my yellow lion. It was about a foot long and made of mostly metals. It was the only lion of the 5 that I have and it does transform into one of the legs. If I had all 5 now, it would fetch in a lot of $

The Netflix series just doesn't have the magic or intensity of the 80's Voltron. Even the commercial break scenes are more intense than the Netflix series.😄

Funny how the old school Voltron use to defeat the monsters in record time, and the new reboot Voltron takes about 2 episodes to defeat one monster. 🙄😂
