A plane is a two-dimensional object having length and breadth only. Its thickness is always neglected. Various shapes of plane figures are considered such as square, rectangle, circle, pentagon, hexagon, etc. The topic "Projection of Planes" in Engineering Graphics describes how different 2D views of a plane has been drawn in a drawing sheet. The plane is usually located in the first quadrant formed by the principal planes and followed the first angle projection.
There are four different positions of a plane as follows,
1. Perpendicular to both the planes
2. Perpendicular to one plane and Parallel to the other
3. Perpendicular to one plane and inclined to the other
4. Inclined to both the planes

Watch this part-4 Tamil video (Lecture 9.4) that explains how to draw the projections of a pentagonal plane when it is in the fourth position (Problem 4)

A pentagon of 35 mm resting on one of its corners on the hp.the edge inclined to that corner makes an angle of 30 to hp. The surface of the pentagon is inclined at 40 degree to vp. Draw it's projections. Sir, please clarify my doublt .. here in the question, they have given that the pentagon surface is inclined to vp .. but it should be hp.. am i right ? Sir
