Tbh...it could be a collection of different ways that hikers get killed, it’s mainly lone persons that do.
So from NA myths of spirits taking them...to crazy man hunters, animals attacking, accidents, getting lost and dying, some strange creature natural or otherwise...government connections, or ET beings...unless a pair of hikers get attacked, and one escapes to let the people know, what the predator is...we are not going to find out .
Don’t go alone, no matter how experienced you are, it’s a vast wilderness out there full of dangers.
