To imagine being a kid, buying this game not knowing mewtwo is a character, only to randomly find him unintentionally. Must have been a great moment

The Mewtwo one was an absolute feat to do back then. I learned later on that it meant 20 COMBINED hours, not necessarily all of them continuously.

Man I remember when Mewtwo came up warning me a new challenger has appeared, my 10 year old heart skipped a beat and all the local kids in our neighborhood I had invited over to play smash were freaking out. All I was thinking was “I have to win this or else I’m a failure for the rest of my life”. Beating Mewtwo was the most rewarding experience of my GameCube experience as a kid. I’ll never forget it.

I remember playing 700 Vs. Matches to unlock mewtwo. All my friends never played the game so I literally ran off the edge with Captain Falcon 700 times.
