It's not "theater". It's people and country. The more they refer to this as more it sounds like a game.

One of the reasons why that treaty was suspended is because within the last 2 years, we had found out that Russia had never been following the treaty and one of their big violations was that they had a type of CRUISE missile that was on many of their Navy ships. And part of the treaty was that they WOULDN'T have CRUISE missiles on their destroyers, and naval ships but they'd had them on those ships for a very long time all along.

We still don't know for how many decades they'd had cruise missiles on their navy vessels even to this day!

Then Russia launched a huge misinformation campaign to make it seem like all the violations were done by the US. People have listened to Russia' claims on this kind of stuff and caught the lies in how they present themselves, with comparing it to facts.

Still...we need to be careful of becoming a culture of war.

Either get out of Syria or go in and get the job done if America really believe it is a national security issue. Afganistan is either for training and to keep the troops sharpe or it is to help there country stand on its own. It is time to get out and let them stand on there own with minimum help and support. Or get paid for more help.

What is unfortunate is in fact, there had been no information on this information from the media and you politicians. Before this President.
Where were you then?
Just go get to work.

There has not been a treaty for some time. Russia has been violating it for a while. And China is not bound by it and has thousands of missiles which would violate the treaty if China was a signatory. In such a situation, America had no choice but to withdraw and start building long range and intermediate range projectiles to counter China. China knows this and that is why it wants the US and Russia to remain in the treaty.

So, in the past, we had ways of strong-arming Russia into compliance without straight pulling out, right?

If it wasn't being followed why still have it in place?
