I have learned about the GDR and HK-01 while playing M4-78EP. There were some references, like some Droid thinking that HK-47 is HK-01.

You know it could be one of the reasons why droids are banned or straight up outlawed later on down the line in some places. Some old wounds just never heal

I suspected some kind of Droid revolt lead to the practice of memory wipes on Droids to avoid willful behavior, but had not actually heard there was one or even imagined the scale of their insurrection; reading isn't something that I do often and videos like this are my majority source for info pertaining to the expanded universe lore. I remember reading of the droid rebellion but not that HK-01 lead it. Its a great explanation for why droids had limited ability to improvise outside of its purpose/programming in the star wars universe.

I had no idea about this so called Great Droid Revolution or the damaged it caused.
Sounds like Mace Windu would've been a great asset during this time, considering what he managed to do against a droid army, even without his Lightsaber

HK-01 no never heard of him. But the "Droid Revolution" of Kessel yes from Legends yes.

"Die Meatbag!!!!" Droid Revolution? I've never heard of it before but this was an amazing and insightful video my friend. I also didn't know that Czerka created the first prototype of the HK-47 assassin droid. The HK-47 was the most powerful droids ever made...no way the Clone Army could have defeated them if the Separatist had used them during the Clone Wars

In Knights of the Old Republic II in the M4-78 Enhancement Project, there is a reference to the Great Droid Revolution on Coruscant.

I was aware, I have no idea when I read about it, but I am aware of it. Although I forgot it was Czerka, but then again when ever they need a Multi-National Evil Corporation in Star Wars ancient history Czerka fills the role nicely.

So I’m a GM (game master) for the Star Wars Revised version RPG, I’ve known about the droid revolt only because I’ve gone down some serious rabbit holes in wookieepedia. Do to the HK unit I made my own HK-66, 69, 82, 86, 99 models for the era my players are in, is NJO. Anyway that was a nice video, always enjoy them and look forward to more.
