Mysterious abandoned hotel in Lanzarote

Series of still photographs depicting a 2015 walk in Lanzarote to the mysterious abandoned hotel on the beautiful west coast of the island. Soundtracked by Repetitive John.

Walking across Rubicon Plain I saw a small yellow building and thought I'd nip across and photograph it. It turned out to be about 2 kilometres away down a crazily winding track and quite large. Internet says it was abandoned in the 1970s. Photos taken 9 April 2015 by John H Irvine. Drone music created 2014.

I went here in 1989. It took some finding as every track I followed through the scrub and dust had been obstructed some way or another to stop people going there. I felt a presence of some occupants. Later I was told by a tour operator that several "feral" children lived there !

I visited last week. As you say a weird feel to the whole area. One family was either living there or using it as a weekend place, one of the second storey rooms as in your video seems to have been in use. It is the one with a frontage. I got lost driving out and came across three graves - I assume of family pets, but why would a cap be there on a dog's grave?
