About the video:
Of course hourly rates are a controversial topic - most companies don't share them, some do, but vaguely. But in the end what I think is more important is how much time you spend to earn that money, not the value for the typical 8 hour work day.

Time is more important than money in any workplace, so optimising for productivity is definitely the way to go. So how much does a junior UX or UI designer earn a month? How much was it in 2002?

Thank you for raising this point. I'm currently stuck at stressful 9-5 with lots of overtime and it's sucking my soul. The worst part is to get out I need to built a new portfolio, so the only time to work on it is late at night and usually by then I'm so burned out. Either I make it out or I'll get totally depressed. But this video gave me hope, thank you

If someone works a full-time job at a company but is unable to showcase projects done in a portfolio due to NDAs, how can this person build a good portfolio that will help attract more senior roles/better pay?
