Java 8 Lambda Basics 2 - Why Lambdas

Let's look at some high level benefits of Lambdas in Java 8.

Your tutorials are just great. Anytime I need to learn a new complicated concept, but I need to start right from the beginning, and fully and clearly understand that concept, if you have a tutorial on it, I know that my problem has been solved. All I have to do is watch your tutorial on that subject, and the subject becomes Chrystal clear. You anticipate any question that might come up and answer it.

When I watch or read other sources trying to teach similar concepts, then as I go through the course/tutorial, I have to keep searching for concepts that they refer to but don't explain. With your tutorials, that's not a problem at all; you always have anticipated what question might come up and have already answered it. So, all I have to do to learn the concept is make sure to go through all the screencasts that you have included in the tutorial, and I know that at the end, I am an expert on that subject. One of benefits of Lambda that explained is "It enables the functional programing"
But I think it's possible to do functional programming without Lambda, "Lambda ease the functional programming" is better description as Lambda simply is another type of implementation for Functional Interface, without Lambda we can still use Inheritance and anonymous class to implement those Functional Interface!

I don't think parallel processing has any use in server side programming. One processor core is enough to process one client's request. So no use of parallelStream on server side. Though it will be useful in analytics applications.
