You need to push down a bit more with the pole pruner. It's a bit of a git but as there are no dog teeth and the weight balance is off the cutting point if you apply some gentle pressure it's much better.

pdevault155 is exactly correct. You don't have to buy the special premix from Stihl, but this is an option you can purchase instead of using ethanol fuel.

You do not have to buy the special Stihl fuel in a can. We were just trying to point out that ethanol fuel is not good for these small engines and that there is an alternative that you could turn to.

Come on I have t buy fuel in a small can!? That is a definite downside to me because I am going to find it hard to believe it is cheaper than gasoline.
