Indeterminate tomatoes are difficult to grow well in containers and grow bags because of the trellising issue. Indeterminates can grow 20 feet tall over a long season. How do you trellis tomatoes in a container? In this video I'll show you 2 ideas that really work!

Neat idea with the teepee/twine. I always do my indeterminate tomatoes in pots. I have a 6’ stake for each pot, and I tie one main growing stem to the stake. Once it gets to the top it is close to the end of my growing season anyway, so I chop off the top and force it to focus on ripening the fruit it has already set instead of more growth that’s just going to die in a frost. Works for me up here in the maritime northwest.

Ah I’ve been waiting for this video since you hinted at it in your last tomato video! Thanks for considering us container gardeners 😊

I use 6 to 8 ft metal yard steak we use to mark driveway in winter. Also I use flower tape from dollar tree to tie off. You can find that craft area. If using grow bags add a heavy rock in the bottom.
Great video.

I live at 5, 000 ft above sea level in Montana. I use 3 8ft T-Posts driven in the ground with nob covers and run electric fence wire across the top. I put bamboo poles in the 6 containers and secure to the wire at the top. I secure the tomato plant to the bamboo pole with rubberized wires.

Brilliant 🍅 I've only grown determinate tomatoes in the past because I was a bit overwhelmed by the idea of trellising. This I can do 😎

I have 48 tomatoes in grow bags that are in three rows. I used three t-post, two pieces of conduit and three PVC t's per row to build a rail. Then I hung the strings and attached them with plant ring clips. I wish I could post a pic to show you

I'm using 15 gallon pots this year. My Toms are deep planted and nearly at the top of their pots. I'm planning to make a heavy base, with left over 2x12 lumber, creating a box around my pots. Then, using lumber, I'm making an overhead trellis. I have a couple of your hooks arriving soon. I'm in Laguna Beach and enjoy a frost free climate.

I've been growing tomatoes in huge pots next to a West facing 6 ft high cedar fence for many years. I train the plants up the fence vertically and then horizontally when they reach the top. In zone 5 the fence and plants can be covered with plastic or floating row cover to extend the season for a few weeks.

Used a five gallon pot in the greenhouse and paracord wrap attached to the wood roof supports. Grew marzanos like this.

LOL I just bought grow bags for my extra seedlings from my growing efforts this year. My plan was to do Florida weave but will continue watching. Edited to add that my grow bags will be placed on a row with poles on each end and the weave will go between all bags
