Aero helmets, full disc wheels, 3d printed aero bars, super slippy tri suits, all expensive stuff. Putting a bottle down your jersey, costs the price of a bottle (£5), Tape over bolts (£3). Are they banning this stuff because it's accessible to all, and their sponsors can't charge mega bucks for it?

This is so vague... Like my Giant Trinity literally has a hydration system up front... As well as a faring under the BB and bento box on the top tube - by the letter of the rules all of which would be banned... As usual IM doing a half arsed job of addressing a need and causing confusion in doing so

Who cares about bottles down the front of your shirt? Anyone can do this, it presents no unfair advantage. I guess I'll get DSQ'ed, because not only do I put empties down my shirt and full ones sometimes to keep cool and I'm also a type 1 Diabetic to make sure I don't die on the course due to lack of sugar I'll just have to throw the empties in the street now and get a time penalty for littering too!

Huh - the 6-day run was at the same lake as the swim course for 70.3 Indian Wells/La Quinta, Lake Cahuilla!

Does this mean between arms bottles are ok or not? Rules are far too vague, going to cause a bunch of issues depending on who is judging and their interpretations both for officials and athletes.

Do new ironman rules effectively make wheel covers like the EZ-Disc illegal?
That's a fairing intended to reduce air resistance I guess?

Same thing for their crank/derailleur covers.

Ironman becoming UCI 2.0? What about small bottles with gel in your back pockets? Are they allowed or do they produce to little waste? Just an additional point to not go to an Ironman event and instead support my local triathlon events.

Why are they banning this stuff? If instead of taping you would need a custom 3d printed part, that just make the sport more elitist. Have there been accidents with bottles down the tri suit?
