Prof Scott Galloway is more excited about AI than any technology innovation since voice.

Hollywood has long predicted the blurring of lines between humans and machines, but now, with OpenAI's Dall-E-2 and ChatGPT pushing the boundaries of generative AI, the question becomes: Will the movie that is AI be a rom-com or horror? On GZERO World with Ian Bremmer, tech expert and NYU Professor Scott Galloway warns of the dangers of AI-powered social media platforms like Facebook and TikTok, which are collecting vast amounts of data that could be used for espionage and propaganda.

Galloway believes that the younger generation may be manipulated by these platforms without even realizing it. He also addresses extreme political polarization in America, which he attributes to social media, and suggests mandatory national service to bring young people together and build relationships.

But AI is not all bad news. Galloway believes that generative AI-powered search and social media data sets could be used to predict trends and inform decision-making, potentially revolutionizing industries like healthcare and defense.

Scott has a fantastic perspective on many things, one which most people should adopt. It is important going forward that the lines are not blurred between humans and artificial intelligence. Humans have unique characteristics and AI must have it's own unique characteristics which are obvious to any person. There is no need to make AI to look or sound like us.

Yes, key point, we are rotting from the inside. I see it in my neighborhood, very few seem to know even their neighbors names, every house has surveillance cameras, and kids don't play in the streets they have play dates and confined to their back yards. Nice tree lined garden neighborhood but living in islands of fear and distrust - a neurotic community.

Scott, that's a heavey wish list, but you're 100% correct.

What about the health care companies and the insurance companies? We give them our data. Yes, there's HIPPA. But they can find loopholes.

The goal of agi is be able to do anything that a human can, any jobs created by this new technogy will eventualy be done by the ai itself. So this won't create any jobs. We need a UBI.

It's not artificial, Ir's algorithmic. the instructions and decisions had to be written by human.

Funny thing the examples he used were in times of war. We’ll come together when the real crisis hit. Or maybe not, as long as we hv our phones. Now we can generate stuff?

Scott: you say you're cautiously optimistic but your body language says otherwise, and pretty much everything you say here is very depressing.

Which one is much more urgent and important to you? Bottom 50% population or AI?
