Panic at the Costco! People stocking up on water, toilet paper amid port strike

If the packed parking lot outside the Costco in Cedar Park on Thursday morning is any indication, people in Central Texas are not taking any chances with the latest port strike.

Hopefully everyone trying to return their 24 packs of toilet paper and bottled waters gets turned away.

I was at Costco Wednesday to get some eggs and vitamins. The parking lot was full and all the cart corral was empty. The checkout line at self checkout was two lines all the way to the back of the store. It wasn’t that bad during Covid. People are really stupid.

Always have toilet paper! You don't have to go out and buy a ton of it at once so that it keeps others from having some. Just purchase an extra pack or 2 each week in addition to your regular amount to save for emergencies. Preparing for emergencies is always a smart thing to do.

My 2 local Costcos have been out of toilet paper and paper towels since Tuesday. A few pallets arrived this morning and in 20 minutes they were totally gone!!
