Ok, fair. But let’s not undervalue kids who need to earn money and are _more than casual_ about it, even if not hiring others in a business. The kid who is scrappy and resourceful to earn money wherever they can because they come from a family without means. Steady babysitting over years, described well, should be a worthwhile activity. Admittedly it’s not first place in ISEF. But I’d rather admit a resourceful kid who works than one who sits around or just shows up at volunteer events (whatever that means). At least a family inviting you back repeatedly to care for their child is a mark of responsibility that most teens are lacking.
