Who would have guessed a powerstone is more powerful when worn or broken into shards

Doctor Who being a The Who cover band by doctors is a rad idea

I love the Martina Fackova art personally. The reflection of her with the chain veil on and the emotion captured on her face speak to the characters growth from the vampy cheese of the Steve Argyle original (which is still sweet art). I don't care for the super art much but I do like that she's in her Onyx garb.

Hearing RIchard talk about Lilliana of the Veil and the nuances of playing the card is fantastic

You're wrong about new Karn not protecting himself. He protects himself by being stone cold unplayable and no one in their right mind would bother attacking it.

Imo, it definitely feels like Karn was suppose to be a plant for future sets, but the abilities are so underwhelming that it's not gonna matter and the card most likely will not see play in 60 card constructed formats.

I know Seth kinda isolates himself from a lot of pop culture, but I'm impressed he somehow missed Dr. Who existing.

Karn could have been...idk, playable? If the minus ability didn't necessarilly require mana payment for it to even work. Like, make it dig one or two cards deep on its on, and in addition, you can spend mana to make it dig deeper.
"Pay any amount of mana. Look at the top X cards of your library, where X is 2 plus the amount of mana you spent, then put one of those cards into your hand and the rest at the bottom of your library in a random order."
I don't know, it probably still wouldn't see a lot of play, but it could make it decent in a specific situation at the very least.

I want a Legend with "all sagas have Read Ahead"

Base Black control looks like its gonna be strong. Lily plus invoke despair seems like creature based strategies are going to have a real uphill battle.

SaffronOlive WAS THE ONLY ONE right about Sheoldred! Mono-black midrange is so sick in standard right now and she is the reason why.

I'm with you on Ajani Seth. +1 is strictly better than Domri Rade and -3 is like Nissa Voice of Zendikar (except Nissa couldn't go tall). Two abilities that we already know are powerful.

I think you play it on turn 3 more often than not. You only spend 4 mana if you want to -3 immediately and swing for lethal. Or if you want to ult I guess.

I bet Karn's +1 made two powerstones initially. Like they wanted a sort of Hedron Archive planeswalker. Maybe they should errata the powerstone so it adds 2 colorless mana lol.

2nd ability should have been -X, and you look at twice X cards maybe? idk

I agree with Seth. Sheoldred is decent but it should have been a rare imo. Disappointing pull as a mythic

Crim was right we have seen the kicker in other colors before. I play illuminate in my Aegar commander deck and that has kicker for 2R and 3U

The new Goyf might be underrated, specifically with respect to its ability to mill. Cards that are both enablers AND payoffs tend to be glue that can hold archetypes together (think Righteous Valkyire gaining life and pumping once you gain life). Eccentric Farmer and Witherbloom command in Diregraf decks are great because of their utility but having a real threat early to suck up removal or punish opponents who dirdle will fit in nicely.

Ajani is much better than it was talked about here. I think it will see plenty of standard play. It's very strong against Meathook.

I still think y'all misevaluating Guardian of New Benalia a bit. You don't tap your three drop. You tap your ONE drop that cant attack because the board is getting bigger. Enlist is not a mid range strategy where you go two drop, three drop, get value at turn 4. Its a mechanic for hyper low to the ground aggro. You play Guardian together to like 10 or 12 one drops, so you will always have something to enlist on turn 3, scry, and attack indiscriminately because you can make the guy indestructible. If some form of mono white/boros super low curve aggro deck is tier 1, this guy will be leading the charge with his pseudo banding

Here a month later, Crim and Richard greatly underwhelmed Sheoldred.
