SİPER Long Range Air Defense Missile System Acceptance Activities Begin

Acceptance activities have begun for the SİPER Long Range Air Defense Missile System, a groundbreaking Turkish innovation developed entirely with domestic resources. As Turkey's first long-range air defense missile system, SİPER is poised to join the Turkish Armed Forces inventory in 2024, bolstering the country's air defense capabilities significantly.

"We are currently accepting the missile," stated ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol. "The Turkish Army will be utilizing it next year. Our geography necessitates a 'Strong Economy, Strong Army, and Strong Türkiye'."

Developed under the coordination of the Presidency of Defense Industries, ASELSAN, Roketsan, and TÜBİTAK, the SİPER system utilizes the PRODUCT-1 Missile, boasting an impressive range of 100+ kilometers. It features advanced functionalities such as air defense planning, multi-target multi-radar fusion, and the ability to operate effectively in challenging environments.

In the future, the system will be equipped with a range of interceptors, including the PRODUCT-2 Missile with a remarkable range of 150+ kilometers. This expansion will further enhance the SİPER system's capabilities, ensuring Turkey's airspace remains firmly protected against emerging threats.
