Honestly, the comparison with the aircraft carrier is the accurate one. A lot of the complaints surrounding it at the time GvK came out were largely due to people not knowing just how massive aircraft carriers really are. If you stood one up, it would be taller than Godzilla. The only reason he's bigger than it in 2014 was because Gareth Edwards cared more about wanting to make him look as big and imposing as possible instead of focusing on any kind of consistency

As an Aussie I can confirm that we do indeed have Godzilla 2014 roming the outback

For the first one, i remember seeing something from either the director of 2014, or someone else on the team, but apparently while Godzilla was canonically 355 feet tall in the movie, they accidentally made the cgi model closer to 900ish feet tall, which i think is why he looks a lot larger than he does in gvk

I don't get the 98 godzilla hate. I get that it's not the best gozilla but it introduced SO MANY (including myself) to godzilla. Seeing that movie as a kid was what got me into kaijus in the first place and i know it was the same case for many fans. That alone means it deserves some respect. Godzilla is godzilla after all
