Living to Reflect Jesus' Reign | Kingdom First

Jesus came preaching the Kingdom of God, in many ways, it was His central message. His message was encountered by jewish people who were under the rule of Rome and living in the midst of oppression of earthly governments. In the context of this persecution, the people of God long for reprieve from the Romans, yearning for God to finally fulfill His promise to place a ruler on the throne of David.

Yet God doesn't answer according to human desire for a ruler that would overthrow the Romans and restore the Kingdom to Israel. Jesus comes preaching a message of servanthood and love effectively turning the concept of 'kingdom' upside down.

Matt 18:4 "Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven"
