There are also motion dummies. They actually move in a programmed manner in the air. Disney Imagineering is using them at the parks and in lower budget shows/movies to cut down on cgi costs.

That balcony fall had real weight to it as it fell, it looked great. Oftentimes in fight choreo or stunt performances, the simple stuff doesn’t look natural unless someone is actually hurt and takes a full hit. So it’s incredible how good a weighted dummy can really emulate that impact with no injury to crew
