Gifting Philodendron Cuttings 🪴💚

🪴 My Philodendron Paraiso Verde and Billietiae have been the most affected by winter. They don’t play nice with each other and fight for the little light they get! Lol It’s caused both to get really leggy. My Paraiso Verde is also losing variegation.

I decided to correct this by chopping both and not letting them produce any new leaves until the situation gets fixed (🚨 SPOILER ALERT: I’ve since fixed the issue!)

I decided to give the cuttings I took from both to my neighbor Angeli. She’s done so well with the plants I’ve already given her that she’s become my go-to cuttings recipient! 😅

Virgo plant newbie...the worrying is real 😂 I am starting to get so emotional everytime i fail my plants. My husband just keeps SURPRISING me with new ones if they die (or i think they are dead, not sure how to propagate). Ughhh. He thinks that he is doing a good thing but i told him to STOP bringing me plants because they dont last 3 months sometimes. I have an aglaonema that has been with me since April and I am soooo happy that she is still with me. She was root bound so i repotted her today. I have knots in my stomach because im hoping and praying that i didnt do anything wrong in the process. Ughh

He also bought me two money trees from Easy Plants and what did i do....fry them in the sun 🥲 they are bouncing back now and the leaves are getting back to green so ill see how they do over the next week. I just got them Monday.

Yall pray for me. Im out here singing to my plants and trying to speak life into them because my hubby wont QUIT bringing plants to me 😂

My living room is kept at a constant 21 degrees Celsius and have grow lights on for 15-18 hours a day and mine is still pushing out solid green leaves dunno what I’m doing wrong

Would a heat mat supplement the necessary heat? Is it the roots that need to be warm or the entire plant? I just bought a seedling with pretty low variegation and I think I’m going to try using a heating mat to see if it improves the variegation.
