Your problem is not the hospital, it’s your health insurance. Be aware of your insurance’s healthcare provider network available in your area or places you’re visiting.

If you want hospital care comparable to average US hospitals stay in Manila, Cebu and Davao. Went to Cagayan de Oro last year and took care of my Mother when she got sick in the best hospital in the city. As nurse in the US for 30 yrs it scared me if I have a medical emergency like stroke, heart attack or injuries from vehicular accident in the Philippines. Also care were slow and not organized. Care are not particularly tailored for elderly which are greater risk of death due to complications during hospital stay. Make sure you have a lot of relatives to assist you when you get sick.

I’ve been in the Philippines over a decade. Dozens of interactions with the healthcare system at all levels. Take my word for it, if you have a medical emergency here, you’ll have to be very lucky to survive.

It stands to reason, wherever you want to move to and especially if you have health issues, you'll want to check out the health facilities in that area first before deciding to move there.

Welcome to the Philippines! Nothing works efficiently only when it's time to collect money from you. and that failed here!

Thank you for the video. Lots of other foreigners make it seem you can't get any hospital care in the Philippines and you need to go back to your home country for care. My question is what if they have a heart attack. Will they make it on the plane for that 30hours+ flight

Your insurance won't pay if it is not up to a certain amount depending on your plan, i.e., 5, 000 - 20, 000 U.S. dollars.

JJ The Lonely Bull in Asia had an interview with Michael Onstad on his channel about 4 days ago. It was a very informative interview about insurance in the Philippines. I think the insurance is Pacific Cross.
