Amiga 500 homemade External Floppy Disk Drive Interface

This homemade External Floppy Disk Drive interface allows the user to connect an HxC or Cortex/Gotek FDD Emulator as an external drive to Amiga 500 Amiga 600 or Amiga 1200 computer. I personally tested it with Amiga 500 and 600 - and can confirm that it works well with those Amiga models.

Standard (unmodified for Amiga use) PC floppy drives will work as well. Just set up the jumpers accordingly and You are ready to roll.

Original Amiga floppy drives as well as modified PC drives for use with Amiga will also work without a problem with this external FDD interface.

Will this work with an Amiga 2000? I've heard that A500 stuff will frequently work with the A2000.

You know what this would be useful for on a side? Considering one can use a standard PC floppy drive on it (as the video says), one could use it to simply read floppy disks (via that PC fdd) when you do not have an amiga floopy drive spare. But wait I haven't finished. What I mean is, it could, in theory, be used to run from floppy disks that are homemade. I think looking into making floppy disks (by spraying the suitable magnetic material onto plastics disks) would be wise because flash cards won't be around forever maybe. We already see how compact flash is harder to get ahold of nowadays and so maybe sd-cards will become a shortage one day. If floppy disks become a rarity it would be good to able to make them, and also this means the "experience" of the amiga is maintained.

I don't recommend using HD disks as DD disks by covering the hole. The formulation of the media is different.
