At least 40 dead in attacks around Paris

At least 40 people are dead following 'unprecedented terror attacks' in central Paris.

It is understood around 100 hostages are being held at a theatre in the centre of the city.

French president Francois Hollande has declared a state of emergency for all of France and said he is closing all borders.

Explosion heard during France v Germany game
An explosion can be heard in the background of the France vs Germany football match at the Stade de France in Paris.

At least 26 people have been killed in multiple attacks across the French capital.

Remember, the person who discovered the suicide bomber was a security guard named Zouheir. He saved hundreds of lives that day (Including the French President, Francois Hollande) by stopping the bomber and detonating them outside the stadium.
He isn’t mentioned in the vast majority of articles about this and he deserves a lot more credit.

There was apparently a suicide bomb to be at this match. When entering the stadium, guards stopped the man and prevented him to enter.

In one day:
Paris - terrorist attacks
Japan - earthquake
Baghdad - funeral bombed
Beirut - suicide bombing
Mexico - earthquake
24 hours and we lost 115, 200 heartbeats

#PrayForParis " The cab I just had home was the saddest 25 mins I've ever experienced from another human being. This Muslim driver said I waa his 1st customer past the 2 hours tonight becauae of the Attacks in Paris. For 25 mins I had to tell that stranger, this human being like you & me, that he was not a part of what was happening & how sorry I was people looking at him with fear or anger. He cried the whole way to my apartment & it made me cry too. He kept saying: "Allah, my God doesn't like this!" People think I'm a part of this but I'm not. Nobody wants to drive with me bc they feel unsafe. I can't even do my job!" It was one of the most heart breaking moments I've ever experienved in my life."

I remember watching this game live on the TV, the commentators here in Germany immediately alluded to a possible bombing

You'd be so petrified and confused in that situation... it's haunting. Even now, nearly 2 and a half years on. Still so fresh in the memory. RIP to the fallen.
