I think this is a very good performance and I can feel Maestro's rich musical experience.
But honestly, I prefer Maestro Muti's recording with the Philadelphia orchestra back in the 80's. That was a very sharp, dynamic and unique, outstanding performance with the great sound from the virtuoso orchestra.
Chicago Symphony is, as everyone agrees, also one of the greatest orchestra in the world.
But this performance is just like many others because the music doesn't have enough energy, clearness or emotions.
Maestro Muti, please don't lose what you had when you were young.
Please don't be be flat and plain as you gain experience. Please don't be like many other musicians.
