His name is Viollet Le Duc, not "Le Duc". Viollet is part of his name. His first name is Eugene. Saying just "Le Duc" is as absurd as calling George Washington "Ington".

And yes, the restauration he did was a massive transformation of the building.

There are 3 roses in ND. The one he turned (because nobody knew, after restauration, how to put it back at its original angle) is in the transept, not between the towers.

This is during the restoration process; after the fire, this was intact, and now they are having a chance to study it as they work the restoration process around it.

The exterior view of the South Rose window is not shown in this video. I’ve never been to Paris but I know the cathedral faces East, which means the South Rose Window is on the facade that faces the Seine and not the more famous Rose Window placed between its two towers.
I can see why the window was rotated 15 degrees in the 19th century. Good video in spite of the misnomer.

This was never a mystery.
All of this was well documented and well publicized during LaDuc lifetime and has been talked about repeatedly ever since.

Lazy script writing will be the end of serious art.

"Chief suspect"? As if it's a mystery who restored the cathedral?

Really interesting. I presumed the rose window would have been irreperably damaged in the fire but it seems not.

They only created new panels of glass if the 13th century panel was missing after removing all prior updates. They did not replace every single panel of glass.

And almost 1000 years a building may have to suffer some changes
