GIS Glossary Part 4: KML

KML is an XML-based file format primarily used for loading spatial data into Google Earth. While it has been used in various applications, it is not the most efficient file type due to its markup language. KML is essentially a remnant from the acquisition of Keyhole by Google.

Any recommendations on a good package to convert these? I'm trying to automate their conversion in a Python script and it's proving troublesome.
