the 1000 nits are a bit misleading. the display isn't that much brighter than the 400 nit display
the privacy feature works in a way where it cranks up the display with bright white light.

go check out a privacy screen video on any recent hp model, they work the same

I went with the HP Envy performs well, screen & thermals battery life are good. Great build quality but Should have come with a pen especially for the price paid in UK.

I've been looking at getting an Envy for personal project use and school, I'll be getting the 15". Would you recommend the 4500u or the 4700u? The 15" has 2 fans, I will be upgrading the wifi card and ram myself as you can on the 15". The biggest thing I'm trying to consider is any possible thermal/power throttling

can I ask something, is there no envy 13 x360 with ryzen 5 4500U? I can't find it. i did find in 15" version. On 13" only comes with ryzen 7 4700U?

Sorry Andrew didn't see you were streaming. On the 9510 how does the metal deck compare to the carbon fibre of the XPS range? I like the comfort of the CF so not sure Latitude will be as nice. 9510 is about 30% more expensive than 9500 but the size and weight is a lot closer to my needs. Also have you noticed any issues with the 3 sides where some material is plastic to allow the 3 antena's to work so it isn't all metal. Obviously in your full review you'll be able to show the insides.

My 2, 5 year old Envy x360 15 broke the hinge and popped the screen out, the same problem is all over the internet!
The threads in the lcd backplate rip out of their plastic sockets. Other manufacturers fix this with supporting arms to the top of the display which lower the torque on the threads...
