Mitch Miller also produced Guy Mitchell's "hit" version for Columbia at the time this was recorded in 1951. This version has different lyrics [by Marshall Barer], appropriate for children {"Sparrow in the tree top/Scared of goin' home because it's too darned late", Mitchell sang on his recording}.
