FDA approves updated COVID booster shots that target Omicron

美FDA, 오미크론 겨냥 화이자·모더나 새 백신 긴급 승인

The U.S. FDA has approved the use of Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna's updated COVID-19 vaccines,... which target Omicron.
According to the FDA's top vaccine regulator, Doctor Peter Marks,... approval for the new shot, which protects against the original COVID-19 strain and the BA.4 and BA.5 variants,... was granted after "input from outside experts" and taking a "great deal of care" to ensure they meet FDA standards.
The shots could be available by next week,... with Pfizer's approved for those 12 and above, and for adults only for the Moderna vaccine.
The jabs can be administered once two months have passed since being vaccinated or boosted.
