I actually saw a video on why AI can't make clocks with a lot of different times. As we know AI relies on images on the web for training and almost all of the pictures of clocks on the web show 10:10 - the most attractive way to show off a watch. The AI takes those images into its database, assumes when you need a picture of a clock that's what you're asking for.

I'm just hoping this insane AI push will go the way of the metaverse sooner or later. I mean I'm sure AI will always be involved in some way, but this weird phase of AI needing to be in everything because it's trendy no matter if the tech actually works or not needs to go.

As someone who had lived with and helped take care of 2 grandparents who had dementia it makes perfect sense after having it pointed out. The times I have and see people interact with AI, they all seem to follow similar patterns I had with my grandparents.

Previous iterations of OpenAI seemed far better at remembering things it was asked to remember. Though with the monetization of AI I imagine a lot of that dementia is paywall induced.

BECAUSE IT'S AI. Don't trust AI for anything, especially anything important. It's a black box. If you must (don't?) use it as a lead to generate ideas or possibilities you might not have thought of. And then confirm, or create, on your own.
