If he were open to joining other clubs, then PSG are more likely to get a fee for him, clubs won''t mind paying the 100m+ fee for him despite only having 1 year left on his contract if it guarantees they win his signature.

So a year ago they lauded the new contract, only for the truth to come out a year later than it was in fact a 2 year contract with an optional year that Mbappe could enact. The loyalty bonus is completely insane given that he can just leave for free and collect it. Probably one of the worst deals I've ever heard about. PSG literally kicked the can down the road....

Mbape has a template, 2 year contracts with £200 mil + in wages over the term of the contract, plus a huge signing on fee.
No one is stupid enough to pay a £100 mil transfer plus his wages for 2 years (maybe the Saudis?)
The other thing is, that he is not worth that kind of money and he's a problem in the dressing room!

Cry me a river. Kane got shredded for trying to rely on a "gentleman's agreement" in 2021. Public statements and "oral agreements" have no bearing on the situation. He is fully entitled to run down his contract and leave for free next summer, and not clear how PSG can force him to leave this summer to the highest bidder if he doesn't want to go. No fan of Mbappe, but PSG shouldn't have thrown so much cash and influence at him in return for a two year contract.

The question is do PSG have the balls to stick him in the reserves at the start of the season as they could force a move if he knows he is demonstrably in the wilderness (I'm assuming the French have a transfer window like us that ends after the start of the season)

As a Real Madrid fan, I don't want him at the club even if it's for free, his ego and diva mentality will destroy any dressing room and kill the harmony the club has been building for years.
He's a generational talent, but football is a team game, he's not worth the risk.

Madrid won't give him that much money in a year. More like 50-60 million. But they sure will give him ~150 million as a sign on with additional benefits for trophies/ balon d'Or. All in all, Mbappe nets around 400 million just by fulfilling his contract.

Why would anyone pass that up? Qataris have themselves to blame for giving him a contract like that. Their foolishness is already apparent.
