Update: If anyone else is facing this issue and it's not getting resolved. Try this: Open up the mac in Safe Mode (Hold shift as you power on). Log on and stuff. Then reset the mac and go in as normal. Worked for me. Phew!

My keyboard lit up but I couldn't type anything. I just hold my power button 10 sec, wait till it shut down, then turn it on again. Didn't realize it was that simple. Love it

None of these things worked for me, but then read in the comments to connect an external keyboard to type in the password. This worked! Problem was that the caps lock was on, even though the caps lock light wasn’t on
