Three major aid groups have suspended their operations in Afghanistan, saying they can't work without their female staff. This follows an order by the country's Taliban government telling all humanitarian organizations to stop employing women. The ban comes just days after the group barred women from attending universities.

When you think Afghanistan couldn't be a bigger dumpster fire, you read these headlines...

Taliban a few months ago said " we will not restrict women's work rights, and we need more support and acknowledgement from the international community and aid from organizations".
Now they proved they are not with the modern world.

Taliban: 'The west doesn't care about Afghan lives.'
The West: Here, have some aid groups.
Taliban: 'We're gonna cut your labor supply by more than half.'

It’s strange to me why the people supported the Taliban during the war, but now seem upset ?

Well, this is what they wanted. As others have said, the change has to come within. They had 20 years, conspired with the Taliban, and put up almost zero fight for a better future. Contrast them with how hard Ukrainians are fighting for their future.

Islam has this incredible talent of taking any civilization and then sending it back to the 7th century.

Well this is the government Afghanistan was ready to fight for. Despite the protesting women, I suspect the majority of men in Afghanistan want this sort of life. So it is better that they learn how bad life is going to be for them without NGO support. It is time for all countries to stop supporting them. Unfortunately this means China and Russia will step in, but it is best that they are left to their own devices.

As the saying goes, "you get the government you deserve." Bending over and welcoming back the same incompetent totalitarians who failed to govern effectively in the 90s sure was a galaxy brain move.

Instead of running for those planes, they should've been running for the free weapons they had, before freely giving them to the Taliban to rule over them. Handle your business, and do what you have to do ... live free or die trying.

Why are people surprised by this? It's the taliban.
Now if people had stayed in Afghanistan and fought for their country and what they believed in, things would be different.
They only have themselves to blame and those who fled.
The international community can't do anything for you.

Good for the women! It’s extremely brave to fight for your rights in such a regime. The fact they think they can tell humanitarian aid who they hire is a joke. They are willingly letting there people suffer. Eventually they will get fed up of the worsening situations

As I said last time and I say it again when you had Soldiers from the west in there you all complained and bitched about it. The thing everyone had to remember it was generation before we were going to make change. The generation that were 15 and over was a waste of time to change. It was the new generation we had to change.
