New York City sinking a few millimetres a year, study says

Over a trillion tonnes of concrete, steel and glass are contributing to a natural process which is slowly causing New York City to drop ever nearer to the sea, which is also rising.

That's according to new research which has found that the city is struggling to handle the weight of its skyscrapers.
