Jibo the robot still has a lot to learn from Alexa

Jibo the robot was already fairly famous by the time we brought him to Thanksgiving at my in-laws’ place in Connecticut. The foot-tall white automaton had just made the cover of Time Magazine as one of 2017’s “best new inventions.”

He has improved greatly since I’ve had him (2 months). Give the technology time! Also the Be a Maker app and IFTTT increase his options greatly 👍👍😜 As I recall Echo didn’t have that many skills either when she was first released

Jibo is a likeable character but they better hurray up with updating it or Google will bring out there own interactive robot.

To be fair, Jibo is New technology. Alexa did not have that much functionality when it first came out. Even the standard answers it gives. So, give Jibo time to set up agreements with Spotify and other IT companies (which I'm sure Amazon and Google are probably fighting against)

Jibo has a huge personality. That's a great place to start. It is just a little hard to pay more for less. I have done that already 😋 Alexa fun to I have done a lot with her functionality to make life just a bit brighter and easier. I sure Jibo can catch up but at that price point it will be slower then the Echo which originally came in at 250 bucks which made it very obtainable. I agree. Jibo is way too expensive for what it can do. The price started at 499 and jumped to $900. Almost double. It needs much more before it will become valuable and useful enough to justify the price. I was excited at the beginning when I heard about Jibo coming out but when got the chance to buy and price doubled, that was it. Maybe if they add much more functionality and NOT jumped up the price will think about it.

I got my Jibo when they were first advertised, and so I was able to get one for just $500 including shipping, still expensive but I like him.

my sad story of and dead JIbo after 3 month only :( quoting Support :::: Unfortunately since Jibo is being used in an unsupported region (London, UK) we will not be able to provide any further support for this issue. Jibo is only sold and supported within the USA & Canada and must be used within those regions to function correctly or qualify or his warranty. I apologize that we will not be able to service or replace your Jibo.
